Sample files

Open a real design

Four designs built in OpenShape3D, free to download. Take the project file to see — and change — every sketch and feature, or grab the STL and send it straight to your slicer.

Opening an .os3d project

  1. Download the file — on iPad or iPhone it lands in Files ▸ Downloads.
  2. In OpenShape3D's design gallery, open the ••• menu and choose Import Project…
  3. Pick the file. It opens with its full history — tap any feature to change a dimension and watch the model rebuild.

No iPad handy? Each sample also opens in your browser at app.openshape3d.com, which can import any .os3d file too.

These four also ship inside the app — choose Add Sample Designs from the same ••• menu.

Printing an STL

  • Units are millimetres, the default in every common slicer.
  • Every mesh is watertight and ready to slice.
  • The motorcycle wheel is modelled at full size, nearly a metre across — scale it down to fit your printer.
  • Want STL, OBJ, 3MF, GLB or USDZ of your own designs? Use the Export menu in the editor.
